Sport-sampling, involves children trying out a variety of sports and physical activities. Widely emphasized in literature as critical for appropriate motor and social skill development, future athletic success, lifelong physical activity, and reduced injury risk. Sport-sampling can have a major impact on all aspects of physical literacy as it is associated with lower rates of burnout in sport, improved social interactions, and leadership skills, which all build motivation and confidence for physical activity participation. Sport-sampling also teaches children a variety of fundamental motor skills, which are essential for a child to feel confident and have the necessary skills to transfer to sport performance.”
